Rajputana Club, a 125 year old club for the exclusive use of the British political agents at the princely states and other European residents as well as the Royalty, fell into disuse after Independence. The existing club house was restored for use as a club with billiards, indoor games, lounge, restaurant and the usual facilities that are provided in clubs. Being a heritage building the existing character was maintained.

The site, which is 7 acres, is on a rock outcrop with the club house on the lower edge .On the upper reaches are located 42 residential rooms for use as a resort. Individual houses are built with two rooms each on the ground and first floors. The houses are built of stone extracted from the site during development. The floors and roofs, which are sloped, are in concrete. Roofs are finished with Mangalore tiles.

The space between the club house and residential houses is landscaped to suit existing rock formations, including use of hollows for storage of rain water. Although the club and new buildings are dissimilar, there is a sense of unity brought about by the scale of the buildings and use of materials that are unique to the site.
