Architects' Combine was established in Mumbai in February 1956, as a registered partnership firm. It completed 50 years of its practice in February 2006.

Its founding partners were K R Iyer, S G Mandrekar, D K Purohit and R S Poredi. Currently KR Iyer is still actively practicing. Chandroo Iyer joined the firm as a partner in 1991 and post 2007, Prateek Banerjee, Pratik Sheth & Abhijeet Doshi have been inducted as partners.

We have undertaken 998 projects till date, the last two to make it an even thousand, are in the not so distant horizon! The projects executed by us have been varied in nature and scale from individual homes to large industrial complexes. Offices, housing, hospitals, research laboratories, pharmaceutical plants and educational institutions have also been part of the repertoire of work we have undertaken. We have had long-standing relationships with our clients and a major share of our work comes from repeat clients.

At Architects' Combine we regard our projects as creative processes rather than money spinning cookie cutter kind of work. We believe that architectural space exists in contexts, both human/social and natural. Our aim, while designing is to ensure that our structures respect these realities, so that they may contribute to richer, more meaningful life spaces for occupants and also fit seamlessly into local cultures and environments.

Imagination, travel, research, dialogue and dialectics, sometimes over steaming cups of coffee!, is the fuel for and an integral part of our design process. Our constant endeavor is to push our boundaries and see each project with fresh perspective.
